Common questions about Roman shades

Flat fold or hobbled: what is the difference?

A flat fold lies smooth when lowered and stacks in neat folds when raised. A hobbled shade keeps soft cascading folds even when it is down, which reads more traditional.

Can Roman shades block out light?

Yes. A blackout liner works well for bedrooms and nurseries, and a light filtering liner works for living spaces.

Can Roman shades be motorized?

Yes, and it is a nice upgrade over kitchen sinks and other spots that are hard to reach.

Do you install Roman shades near me?

Yes. We measure and install Roman shades all over Athens and nearby, including Watkinsville, Madison and Monroe. The consultation is free and we bring samples to your house.
